High Quality Furnace Chicago

Autumn is upon us and the team at Around the Town team is looking forward to providing service for all our customers throughout the heating season. Big Ed and the team at Around the Town are ready to assist you with your heating problems. From a new furnace to a boiler installation to a filter change, we stand ready to do “Whatever it takes” to make sure this winter is a comforting season for all.

Autumn also brings the fall colors. For those of you who enjoy a weekend drive to see the orange, yellow, and red hues throughout Northern Illinois, we hope you will also notice the abundance of Pink. The Pink cleats and gloves worn by the NFL this last weekend and the Pink signs posted throughout the city are the surest sign that National Breast Cancer Awareness Month has arrived. This October is the twenty-fifth anniversary of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Breast Cancer affects all of us. Roughly 40,000 women will die from Breast Cancer and another 180,000 will be diagnosed this year alone according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention. In this day and age with our level of technology, this is a tragedy. We all hope the medical community will solve this ghastly problem once and for all but until they do the only way to prevent Breast Cancer is to catch it early before it spreads to other parts of the body. The medical community states that early screening saves thousands of lives each year.

I was at the mall last week and noticed all the ribbons, bracelets, soaps, magnets, towels, and stuffed animals that are being sold to commemorate this battle and I got a lump in my throat at how commercialized this has become. Try this out this year, donate the cash to a locally operated Women’s Wellness Center.  We also are putting our money where our mouth is. As of October 1, Around The Town will donate $50.00 for every air conditioner, boiler, and furnace installed for the rest of 2010 and through the 2011 year. (If charity foundations see this post, please refer us to a breast cancer wellness center in Chicago that could use our assistance through donations and that will use it for the purpose intended.)  Contacted us through Email at aroundthetown@sbcglobal.net or call 312-243-9896.

These centers typically use these funds to help uninsured and under-insured women in our community obtain the medical care they need. In this economy, there are plenty of good people that may need a hand. Please check out the center you make your donation to. I was amazed to find that some of the charities I support were actually poor at actually helping the people they claim to help. I have included the charity navigator site:   https://www.charitynavigator.org/

And let’s take a moment to remember all the fine women who have touched our lives that have lost this battle.
